PURPLE YAM 💜 (PART 1)

Hello friends, today we have something really really special and yes Colorful 💜 too!!

 

In fact, we know!! the most vibrantly colored vegetables or fruits are highly rich with fiber , vitamins, minerals and yeah!! rich in antioxidants too. Other then health benefits😅🤠 just look at the color 😜 OMG!! They are stunning 🌟 Imagine growing Colorful vegetables in your garden and tasting colorful recipes😋Wouldn't it make you feel amazed?😎 Mention your response in the comments below, which makes me to talk much more about this rare and colorful yam. 

 Let's get started with today's episode  PURPLE YAM 💜

 I DON'T KNOW!! HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE ? I came to know about this yam  a year back 😅 The moment I learnt about  this variety 😃 literally wished to see it!! then  later on wished to grow it. And yeah now it's growing 💖

Purple yam is a tuberous root vegetable and it looks bright lavender in color 💜 And this purple yam is also called as 

                                 ✓Water Yam

                                 ✓ Winged Yam

                                 ✓Violet Yam 

This purple color is due to it's presence of a pigment called Anthocyanin which has positive effect on our brain health, inflammation and heart disease. 

                                                      

Recently I have planned this rare Variety in my garden and let me share what I learnt;

Day 1: Place this seed bulb in a nursery pot. 

(On an average purple yam may take 3-4 weeks to sprout well.)

Day 2: Once placed in the starter make sure that your soil remains moist for next two weeks to sprout well. 

>Once Sprouted well, it starts to bear baby leaves and slowly  leaves attains matured level.

>Since this purple yam is a climber, it grows little faster producing vines.

>so, need to place a stick or a rod which gives good support to its vines and in addition this support boosts its growth rate.

And this picture below 👇 was taken after 60 days, as I told earlier this is the first time I'm seeing this purple yam. Need to learn or experiment more😆with this climber plant. 

Other then this🙄😅as of know I have no idea!! How it looks? How it grows or how long it takes for harvest?  I'm just wondering and excited 😀 to harvest those purple yams soon 😍 And yeah!! Lets wait for more surprises in our upcoming updates.
